AUSET LUXOR
Creative director & photographer
A graduate of OCAD University with a BFA in photography, Auset Luxor is a Toronto-based visual artist and photographer with a fixated eye for colour and light. Their imagery often conveys stories of the human experience through intimate portraits that explore vulnerability, love, passion, pain, solitude, strength, and identity. Luxor uses photography not only as a visual aid for storytelling but also to create social conversations around topics such as mental health, feminism, racial and sexual identity, further challenging and reimagining how they are currently represented in the media. In 2016, Luxor was awarded the David Barker Maltby Photography Award, presented by Gallery 44, and the 2020 Gallery 44 Production Career Launcher, presented by OCADU. Their work has also been featured in exhibitions throughout Toronto at OCADU, Gallery 44, Artscape Youngplace, and A Different Booklist Culture Centre.
